I find Uncle Axel's opinion very interesting. He wants David to know that the definition of normal can be different for everyone. I think he might be saying this because he does not want David to be scared about being able to speak telepathically. But I also think he says this because he believes that David and Rosalind truly have a gift; I think this because he is not trying David to get rid of his ability to speak telepathically. I also think that it is important that Uncle Axel makes the point of saying that they should stop trying to be like the Old People. Uncle Axel understands that they cannot changed what happened so they should stop trying.
We find out that Petra has the ability to speak telepathically as well. However Petra can command David and Rosalind. Her ability to speak telepathically is so powerful that it hurts David and Rosalind. Why is her ability so much stronger? Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I do think that her ability to control could lead to problems in the future because she may not know how to control it.
Things are changing in Waknuk. More deviations are happening year to year, more and more crops and livestock are being destroyed, and now there is another person who can speak telepathically. I think these changes are going to lead to something major that will happen soon, but I am not quite sure what this change will be.
I believe Uncle Axel's opinion is completely the truth, I agree he has very interesting thoughts on many topics, he enlightens David on a number of topics and makes David think. He is a well-rounded person, exceptionally good at finding truth in his screwed up community.
ReplyDeleteI think Petra will be a major contribution to the changing of these thoughts on 'mutants,' I believe she will lead a revolution so to speak. I think with her ability she will be able to transform these thoughts, and send the community and society into a positive future. I think she has more power then even David and Rosalind know, and I look forward to seeing how all of that works out.
I think after some struggles with the Fringes people, a major step realization will happen within the mindset of these people, and Petra will affect their future positively.
I really like Uncle Axel. He has a different opinion than many of the people in their society. He listens to David and he made David realize how special and unique his telepathic ability is. I agree that it's important that Uncle Axel makes the point of how they should stop trying to be like the Old People. They need to move on.
ReplyDeleteI think Petra has the ability to speak more strongly because she can communicate with many other people. Maybe she can communicate with people that are far away, unlike David who can only communicate with people living close by. I think Petra's ability is a good thing and it will help them in the future, but it's true that it may cause problems because of how strong it is.
I agree that something big is going to happen soon.
